MCP
Systemic exposes a Model Context Protocol server so an AI assistant can list, inspect and edit your strategies on your behalf. The server lives at https://hub.systemic.finance:10200/mcp and signs you in with OAuth, so you never paste a key into the assistant.
Systemic does not place trades, move money or connect to a brokerage. Running a strategy consumes Systemic credits from your account.
Connect an assistant
Whichever assistant you use, the first tool call opens a Systemic sign-in page. Sign in, choose the permissions to grant (see Permissions below) and approve.
Claude.ai and Claude mobile
Custom connectors are available on the Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans.
- In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors.
- Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Enter the name
Systemicand the remote MCP server URLhttps://hub.systemic.finance:10200/mcp. - Connect the new connector and finish the Systemic sign-in.
On Team and Enterprise plans an owner first adds the connector under Organization settings > Connectors. Members then click Connect.
Once Systemic is listed in the Claude connector directory you can add it from there instead. The connection also works in Claude mobile once it is added on the web.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http systemic https://hub.systemic.finance:10200/mcp
Run /mcp inside Claude Code, pick systemic and choose Authenticate to open the sign-in page.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings, then Apps, and turn on Developer mode under Advanced settings.
- Choose Create app, enter the name
Systemicand the URLhttps://hub.systemic.finance:10200/mcp, and set authentication to OAuth. - Start a chat, add Systemic from the tools menu and finish the Systemic sign-in.
Codex
codex mcp add systemic --url https://hub.systemic.finance:10200/mcp
codex mcp login systemic
Permissions
The sign-in page asks for two separate permissions.
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
read | Look at your account, your strategies and processors, the module catalogue, the data types and the data a run produced. |
write | Everything in read, plus creating, changing, running and deleting strategies. |
Grant read alone, by switching write off on the consent screen, to let an assistant explain and inspect. When it needs write it asks you to reconnect with that permission. Tools that change or delete things are marked as such, and a well-behaved assistant asks for your confirmation before it replaces a graph, starts a run or deletes a strategy.
Tools
| Tool | Permission | What it does |
|---|---|---|
get_user | read | The signed-in account and its tier. |
list_generic_processor | read | The catalogue of modules a strategy is built from, filterable by category. |
describe_generic_processor | read | The full documentation of one module. |
list_value | read | The data types modules read and emit. |
get_strategy | read | One strategy and its current hash. |
get_processor | read | One processor of a strategy. |
read_available_data | read | The data series a run produced. |
create_strategy | write | Creates a strategy. |
update_strategy | write | Changes a strategy's label and settings; the previous version is not kept. |
create_processor_batch | write | Replaces the whole processor graph of a strategy. |
execute_strategy | write | Starts a run and charges credits; it cannot be cancelled or refunded. |
delete_strategy | write | Permanently deletes a strategy. |
Examples
Each example works once the assistant is connected and needs only read.
- Prompt: "Which processor in my Systemic account computes the absolute value of a series? Give me its id." The assistant calls
list_generic_processorand namessystemic:core-abs. - Prompt: "Show me the documentation of the processor systemic:core-abs in my Systemic account, especially what it says about a missing input." The assistant calls
describe_generic_processorand explains from the module documentation what happens with a missing input. - Prompt: "Look up the Systemic value called aimodels and tell me what type it is." The assistant calls
list_valueand reports thataimodelsis an enum.
Disconnect
Open your account, then Connected apps, and remove the assistant. The assistant's refresh token is revoked at once and it loses access within 15 minutes, the lifetime of an access token. To connect again, repeat the steps above.
Troubleshooting
- A write tool answers
write scope required: the connection holdsreadonly. Disconnect, connect again, and leave the switch for creating, changing and deleting strategies on at the consent screen. - A run is rejected for credits: check your balance in the web app and top it up there.
read_available_datareports a pending state: the run has not finished; read again in a moment.
