Inputs

NameTypeDescription
First ValuefloatarrayThe value to test (left side of the comparison).
Second ValuefloatarrayThe threshold to compare against (right side of the comparison).

Outputs

NameTypeDescription
GTRbooleanarrayThe element-wise "greater than" result.
Outputi={trueif Ai>Bifalseif Ai≤Binullif Ai or Bi is missing\text{Output}_i = \begin{cases} \text{true} & \text{if } A_i > B_i \\ \text{false} & \text{if } A_i \le B_i \\ \text{null} & \text{if } A_i \text{ or } B_i \text{ is missing} \end{cases}

The Greater Than module compares two numeric series element-wise and outputs true wherever the first value exceeds the second.

ABA > B

1010false
510false
-2-5true

Missing Data

If either input is missing (null) at a position — a data gap or a closed-market day — the comparison at that position is null, not false. The module never fabricates a "condition not met" answer from missing data: a gap in your inputs stays a gap in the output.

ABA > B
15nullnull
null10null
nullnullnull

A comparison between two real numbers is always defined — including infinite values — so missing inputs are the only source of null in the output.

In live execution the module returns exactly one datapoint — the newest position — which is null when either input is missing there.

Strict Inequality

⚠️ Important: This is a strict comparison. Values that are exactly equal return false.

ABA > B
1010false

For inclusive comparison where equal values also return true, use the GTRE (≥) module.

Input Alignment

When inputs have different lengths or frequencies, Systemic automatically aligns them:

ScenarioBehavior
Different lengthsShorter series is padded by repeating its last value
Different frequenciesLower-frequency series is upsampled to match
Constant vs seriesConstant is broadcast to all time points

Practical Example

Overbought detection: Check if RSI > 70 to identify overbought conditions. Connect RSI output to the first input and set the second input to the constant 70.

  • GTRE (≥) — Greater than or equal (includes boundary)
  • LST (<) — Less than
  • LSTE (≤) — Less than or equal
  • EQ (==) — Equality comparison
