Not
systemic:core-notLogicfunction1 crInputs
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Flag | booleanarray | The input series to be logically inverted. |
Outputs
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| NOT | booleanarray | The inverted boolean series. |
The NOT module inverts each boolean value in a series, transforming true to false and vice versa.
| Input | Output |
|---|---|
| true | false |
| false | true |
| null | null |
Missing Data
A datapoint can be missing (null) — a data gap, or a closed-market slot such as a weekend on a stock series.
- A missing input produces a null output at the same position. The inversion is never faked: a gap is not "false", so NOT never turns it into an affirmative
truesignal. - NOT itself has no invalid inputs — every boolean has a negation — so a null output always means "no input datapoint here", never a math error.
- In live execution the module returns exactly one datapoint (the newest slot), which is null when that slot has no input value.
Numeric Interpretation
⚠️ Important: When the input is numeric rather than boolean, the NOT module converts values before inverting:
| Numeric Value | Interpreted As | After NOT |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | false | true |
| 0.0 | false | true |
| 1 | true | false |
| -5 | true | false |
| 0.001 | true | false |
Rule: Zero (including 0.0) is false. Any non-zero value—positive, negative, or fractional—is true.
Practical Example
"Trade except during high volatility" — Use NOT to invert a high-volatility flag, then combine with AND to filter your entry signal. The result triggers only when volatility is not high.
