Stock: Income and Cash Flow (TTM)

| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Company | stockfundamental | Issuer to pull SEC EDGAR quarterly fundamentals for. Select the same company on every Stock node wired into one computation - mixing issuers produces meaningless results. |
| Provider | filingsprovider | The provider this node reads from. Offered only when the feed has more than one. |
| Window | publishwindow | Publication cadence of the selected Stock Income and Cash Flow series. Pinned by the symbol — each metric is published on exactly one schedule. |
Outputs
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Gross Profit | floatarray | Trailing-twelve-month gross profit, assembled from SEC filings (us-gaap GrossProfit where tagged, else derived as revenue minus cost of revenue for issuers that do not tag GrossProfit directly — Amazon and Ford). Not published for IonQ, which tags neither GrossProfit nor a cost of revenue that includes depreciation and amortization. |
| Operating Income | floatarray | Trailing-twelve-month operating income, assembled from SEC filings (us-gaap OperatingIncomeLoss). |
| Net Income | floatarray | Trailing-twelve-month net income, assembled from SEC filings (us-gaap NetIncomeLoss, falling back to ProfitLoss). Ford tags ProfitLoss instead of NetIncomeLoss from 2019 onward; the two concepts can diverge by noncontrolling-interest allocation, up to roughly 4%. |
| Operating Cash Flow | floatarray | Trailing-twelve-month cash flow from operating activities, assembled from SEC filings (us-gaap NetCashProvidedByUsedInOperatingActivities). |
| Capital Expenditures | floatarray | Trailing-twelve-month capital expenditures, assembled from SEC filings (us-gaap PaymentsToAcquirePropertyPlantAndEquipment). Amazon changed how it tags this concept in 2017; TTM windows straddling that transition mix the pre- and post-2017 definitions. |
Absolute-dollar income-statement and cash-flow figures from SEC EDGAR quarterly filings, every one a trailing-twelve-month rollup: gross profit, operating income, net income, operating cash flow, and capital expenditures.
This node is one of three views over the same EDGAR quarterly filings, split by what the numbers are: TTM dollar flows here, per-share figures on Stock: Fundamentals, quarter-end dollar positions on Stock: Balance Sheet (Quarter-End). Pick the same company on each node you use.
Overview
Every output is a trailing-twelve-month rollup assembled from four quarters of filings — never a single quarter's figure, never a balance-sheet snapshot:
| Field | Description | Units | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| gp | Gross profit | $ | us-gaap GrossProfit, else revenue chain − cost chain (derived for AMZN, F, COST, CRWV, CVX, GOOGL, IREN, LLY, META, NBIS, QCOM, STX, UNH, WMT; not published for IONQ, ORCL, V, COIN, HOOD, BAC, JPM) |
| opinc | Operating income | $ | us-gaap OperatingIncomeLoss |
| ni | Net income | $ | us-gaap NetIncomeLoss, falls back to ProfitLoss (F, post-2019; NCI drift ≤4%) |
| cfo | Operating cash flow | $ | us-gaap NetCashProvidedByUsedInOperatingActivities |
| capex | Capital expenditures | $ | us-gaap PaymentsToAcquirePropertyPlantAndEquipment, else PaymentsToAcquireProductiveAssets (CVX, LRCX, QCOM, V); AMZN definitional step in 2017 |
Why this matters: dollar flows are the raw material of profitability and quality analysis — margins (wire against Revenue = rps×shr from Stock: Fundamentals), free cash flow (cfo − capex), and the flow inputs of the Altman and Piotroski composite scores.
- Update cadence: quarterly (1q), filing-driven — a new datapoint lands when the company files, typically 30–45 days after quarter end. Treat the latest 1–2 quarters as provisional until a filing exists.
- Coverage: the same 45 issuers as Stock: Fundamentals. Not every issuer produces every metric — see Coverage by Issuer.
- History: back to ~2009 (SEC XBRL mandate), later for younger registrants — see Coverage by Issuer. Values are first-filed, never restated (see Stock: Fundamentals for the full restatements policy).
- Source: SEC EDGAR (public domain).
Coverage by Issuer
- NVDA, AAPL, MSFT, AMZN, TSLA, F, KO, AMAT, AMD, CAT, COST, CSCO, INTC, LRCX, MSTR, MU, NFLX, QCOM, STX, UNH, WDC, WMT — all five metrics; ABBV from Q4 2012, AVGO from Q3 2017, BE from Q4 2017, CRWV from Q4 2024, DELL from Q4 2015, GOOGL from Q4 2014, IREN from Q2 2024, META from Q4 2011, MRVL from Q4 2020, NBIS from fiscal 2024 (annual reports only), NOW from Q2 2011, PLTR from Q4 2019, SNDK from Q2 2024.
- CVX — all except

Issuer caveats
- Ford net income is tagged as
ProfitLoss(noncontrolling-interest-inclusive) from 2019 onward — it can diverge from parent-only net income by up to ~4%. - Amazon capex changed tagging in 2017; TTM windows straddling that transition mix the pre- and post-2017 definitions (~$1B step on the overlap year).
- Gross profit is derived (revenue − cost of revenue) for Amazon, Ford, Costco, CoreWeave, Chevron, Alphabet, IREN, Eli Lilly, Meta, Nebius, Qualcomm, Seagate, UnitedHealth and Walmart, none of which tags
GrossProfit; for Ford the derivation mixes automotive and Ford Credit revenue. - Capital expenditures for Chevron, Lam Research, Qualcomm and Visa come from
PaymentsToAcquireProductiveAssets, which can include productive assets beyond property, plant and equipment. - IonQ gross profit is not published: IonQ tags neither
GrossProfitnor a cost of revenue that includes depreciation and amortization, so no gross profit on the other issuers' basis can be derived.
Common Compositions
| Signal | Formula | Nodes |
|---|---|---|
| Free Cash Flow (proxy) | cfo − capex | Subtract(cfo, capex) |
| Net Margin | ni / (rps × shr) | Divide(ni, Multiply(rps, shr)) |
| Gross Margin | gp / (rps × shr) | Divide(gp, Multiply(rps, shr)) |
| Operating Margin | opinc / (rps × shr) | Divide(opinc, Multiply(rps, shr)) |
| Accruals check | cfo > ni | GreaterThan(cfo, ni) |
Composite consumers: Fundamental: Altman Z-Score and Z''-Score take opinc as their EBIT input (a documented proxy — true EBIT adds non-operating income); Fundamental: Piotroski F-Score takes ni, cfo, and gp.
